1.   What is práctica and what is milonga?
A practica is nothing but a place where you can practice tango and you are allowed to talk during the practice which makes it more relaxed as compared to milonga. And you can dance on figures or steps.

On the other hand, Milonga is a social dance of Argentine tango. People wear best finery of tango and they can come either single or with a partner. Music is usually played recorded or live in tandas or in a set of 3 to 4 songs. In addition, Milonga is also a dance style which is danced in 2/4 beat in place of standard 4/4.

2.   What to wear in Tango?
For Practica and dance class: Women can wear anything which should be comfy and movable such as Capri, gaucho, or flowing skirts. Men can wear loose pants or jeans which can let them move, but no shorts.

For Milonga: Women can wear anything which can hug their curves and stretch and flow over their legs. For instance, slits and skirts make you look sexy and move freely. Wear anything which won’t bother you from taking large steps. Men can either wear collared shirt and slacks or a suit with tie.

3.   What types of shoes are acceptable in Tango?
Tango doesn’t need special shoes for the beginners, but it accepts shoes with leather or suede sole. Especially for women, shoes should be so comfortable and movable that they can turn easily without sticking to the floor.

If you wear heel sandals, it should be between 1” and 4” and you can choose whatever you are comfortable in. Whether you are dancing just for a while or becoming a professional dancer, dancing shoes are an investment which is worthwhile both for man and woman.
