Dance styles related to triple two step and their confusing names


The Triple Two Step is a dance which is evolved from a dance bar known as “The Shuffle” and then it was so called as the “Progressive Double Two Step”. To make it something more confusing, it is also called as “Fort Worth Shuffle”, the “Dallas Shuffle” and “The Triple Two Step”. According to the purists, these dances have differences. But according to some non-purists, these dances have the same DNA, but sometimes they have little differences.

In all of these dances, the same rhythm is used as of 1,2, 3&4, 5&6 or Slow, Slow, Quick, Quick, Slow, Quick, Quick, Slow. These steps are also called as “Walk, Walk, Chasse Step, Chasse Step” or simpler “Walk, Walk, Shuffle Step, Shuffle Step”.

1.   Triple Two Step: When somebody says “Triple Two Step” they are mainly telling about the dance which is performed in competition. Actually, this dance form is very flowing and French crosses are used in it .This is danced with slower music with proper shaping and it has an improved deal for open work. Except their names, there is not such difference between these dances. From the practical point of view, it doesn’t need to compare these dances before asking someone to dance. It doesn’t matter what these dances known because you will get different names in different locations when you travel all over the world.
